定语从句(1)
课堂要点精析
1.在主从复合句中,对某一名词或代词起修饰作用的从句叫定语从句。被修饰的名词或代词叫先行词,引导定语从句的词叫关系词。
2.关系词分为关系代词(that, which, who, whom, whose, as等)和关系副词(when, where, why等)两类。
关系代词的用法
1.who指人,在定语从句中可以充当主语、宾语或表语。
◆Here comes the girl who wants to see you.
想见你的那个女孩过来了。(作主语)
◆Danny was a man who we rescued from the ruins.
丹尼是我们从废墟中救出来的一个人。(作宾语)
2.whom指人,在定语从句中作宾语,可省略,也可用who代替。
◆Rose is the person (who/whom) you should care about.
罗丝是你应该关心的人。(作宾语)
3.whose可修饰人,也可修饰物,表“所属”关系,whose在定语从句中作定语。
◆Any student whose family is too poor to go to school can get help from the government.
任何家境贫寒,上不起学的学生都可以得到政府的帮助。(whose引导定语从句作定语)
◆He lives in a room whose window faces north.
他住在一个窗子朝北的房间里。(修饰物)
4.which指事物,在定语从句中作主语、宾语或表语,作宾语时可省略。
◆China is a country which has a long history.
中国是一个具有悠久历史的国家。(作主语)
◆The radio (which) he bought yesterday doesn’t work.
他昨天买的收音机坏了。(作宾语)
◆This is the house in which I once lived.
这是我曾经住过的房子。(作介词in的宾语)
5.that即可指人,也可指物,在定语从句中作主语、宾语或表语,作宾语时可省略。习惯上指人多用who,whom,指物多用that。
◆This is the novel that interests me.
这就是让我感兴趣的那本小说。(指物,作主语)
◆The magazine(that) I bought yesterday is lost.
我昨天买的那本杂志丢了。(指物,作宾语)
只能用that而不用which引导定语从句的情况
1.先行词被序数词或形容词最高级修饰时。
◆The first place that they visited in London was the Big Ben.
他们在伦敦参观的第一个地方是大本钟。
◆This is the most delicious food that I have ever had.
这是我吃过的最美味的食品。
2.先行词是不定代词,如all, little, few, much, everything, anything, nothing, none等时。
◆Have you taken down everything that Mr. Li said?
李老师讲的你都记下来了吗?
◆All that can be done has been done.
所有能做的都做了。
3.先行词被all, every, no, the only, the very, the last等修饰时。

五种基本句型
课堂要点精析
英语句子数量繁多、长短不一,但有规律可循。只要掌握了其中的规律,结构就可以迎刃而解了。掌握句子的五种基本结构及其相应的扩大、组合、省略或倒装,是掌握各种英语句子结构的基础。英语五种基本句型如下:
基本句型一: S+V (主语+谓语)
基本句型二: S+V+P (主语+系动词+表语)
基本句型三: S+V+O (主语+谓语+宾语)
基本句型四: S+V+IO+DO (主语+谓语+间接宾语+直接宾语)
基本句型五: S+V+O+C (主语+谓语+宾语+宾语补足语)
主谓结构中谓语表达的意思是完整的。作谓语的动词是不及物动词,后面不可以接宾语,可以接状语(副词;介词短语;动词不定式;从句)。
◆He cried.
◆The workers work hard.
工人们努力工作。
◆He went on business.
他在出差。
◆We stopped to have a rest.
我们停下来休息。
主系表结构
主系表结构的句子中的谓语动词是系动词,它们不能表达一个完整的意思,必须加上一个表明主语身份或状态的表语构成复合谓语,才能表达完整的意思。除了系动词be外,还有一些实义动词也可以用作系动词:
表感官的动词:feel, smell, taste, sound, look 等。
表变化的动词:become, get, grow, turn, go, fall, run, come等。
表延续的动词:remain, keep, stay, stand, continue, lie等。
表表象的动词:seem, appear, look 等。
表终止的动词:prove, turn out等。

他是一个诚实的人。
◆That young lady is smart.
那位年轻女士真漂亮。
◆The film is interesting.
这部电影很有趣。
◆His voice sounds nice.
他的嗓音听起来很好听。
主谓宾结构
主谓宾结构的句子中含有有实际意义的谓语动词。这种动词的动作是由主语产生,但不能表达完整的意思,必须有宾语(动作的承受者)才能使意思完整。这类动词叫作及物动词。同时,句子中有时含有与宾语有关的状语。作宾语的成分常是:名词、代词、动词不定式、动名词或从句。
◆I like my dog.
我喜欢我的狗。
◆I want to have a good rest.
我想好好休息。
◆I don’t know where to enjoy the holiday.
我不知道去哪里度假。
◆He practices playing the piano everyday.
他每天练习弹钢琴。
主谓双宾(间宾+直宾)结构
主谓双宾的句子中谓语动词必须跟两个宾语才能表达完整的意思。其中一个是动词动作的直接承受者,另一个是动作的间接承受者。主谓双宾结构中间接宾语常常指“人”,直接宾语常常指“物”。
◆I offered him a timely help./I offered a timely help to him.
我给他提供了及时的帮助。
◆I bought her a dress./I bought a dress for her.
我给她买了一件晚礼服。

英文日记通常由书端和正文两个部分组成。日记常以第一人称记下当天生活中的所见、所闻、所做或所想的事情。中、英文的日记格式大致一样。英文日记的书端是专门写日记的日期、星期和天气的。左上角是日期(年、月、日)、星期。右上角写上当天的天气情况。
1.(1)日期表达有多种形式。年、月、日都写时,通常以月、日、年为顺序,月份可以缩写,日和年用逗号隔开。例如:
A)September 1,2019/ September 1st,2019也可省略写成Sept. 1,2019/ Sept. 1st,2019/ the 1st of September in 2019(月份不可以缩写)
B)只有月、日:September 1/September 1st(月份可以缩写)
C)只有年、月:September 2019/the September of 2019(月份不可以缩写)
以上的1或1st都应读作the first。
(2)星期可以省略不写,也可将其放在日期前或后,星期和日期之间不用标点,但要空一格,星期也可缩写。

(3)天气情况必不可少。天气一般用一个形容词(如:Sunny,Fine,Rainy,Snowy 等)表示。写在日期之后,用逗号隔开,位于日记的右上角。

2.日记的时态:由于日记是对当天所发生事情的回顾,故常用一般过去时。在发表议论或感想时,也可使用现在完成时或一般将来时。
3.日记的人称:因为日记是记载自己的亲身经历,故应用第一人称,语言尽量口语化,按照事情发生的先后顺序,清楚、准确、连贯地把事情表达出来。

(1)neither ... nor ...“既不……也不……”,可以连接任意两个并列成分,连接两个主语时,谓语动词应遵循就近原则。

(2)neither或nor连接句子,且置于句首时,句子要用部分倒装。
②Neither was my wife able to persuade my daughter to change her mind nor were my parents.
我妻子和我父母都没能说服我女儿改变主意。
(3)表示前面的否定情况也适用于后者,常用“neither/nor+系动词/助动词/情态动词+主语”结构。

三、迁移领悟——活学提素养
1.第一段第二句使用了省略形式“I hadn't”,使句子在表达上简洁明了;第三句同样是省略句,言简意赅,且使文章读起来节奏感强。
完成句子:

The development of the English language in America can be divided into three periods. The first period is from 1607 to the end of colonial(殖民地的) times.
In this period the population in America was about four million,90 percent of whom came from Britain. The second period covers the expansion(扩张) of the original thirteen colonies. This may be said to close with the Civil War, about 1860.This period was marked by the arrival of the new immigrants(移民) from Ireland and Germany. The third period, since the Civil War, is marked by an important change in the source from which the European immigrants came. They came from northern and southern Europe in large numbers.
