01What’s the date?今天是几号？(教材P102)
“What’s the date?”的用法
这是由what引导的特殊疑问句，用来对“日期”进行提问，意为“今天是几月几号? ”。其同义句型为“What date is it today?”，其答语均为“It’s+日期”。
—What’s the date today? 今天是几号？
—It’s May the first. 今天是5月1号。
date的用法
date作名词，意为“日期；约会”。
We need to fix a date for the next meeting.
我们得为下次会议定个日期。

【析句式】
We have a basketball game against Class 6 on April 12.
“have+表示活动的名词短语”的用法
have a basketball game意为“举行一场篮球比赛”。“have+表示某种活动的名词短语”表示“进行/举行……”。

在这一天，我们举行班级聚会。
03January is the first month of a new year.1月是新的一年的第一个月份。(教材P102)
序数词的用法
句中first意为“第一”，是序数词，它相应的基数词是one。它可单独使用，也可修饰名词，用来表示次序。表示顺序的数词称为序数词。序数词前一般需加定冠词the，若前面有形容词性物主代词、名词所有格修饰时，可不用定冠词the。

1 It's January 17. 今天是1月17号。
[探究]英语中常用的日期表达方式为“月日年”，年份之前加逗号。书写时，“日”可用基数词或序数词，序数词常用简略式；读时，习惯上都读序数词。例如：April 1/1st, 2010读作“April the first, two thousand and ten”。
[拓展]序数词用来表示顺序，其构成一般是在词尾加th。
基数词变序数词
基变序，很容易，末尾加上“th”；
一、二、三特殊记，末尾分别t, d, d；
八减t, 九去e, f来把ve替；
y改为“ie”， 结尾仍有“th”；
若是遇到几十几，只变个位就可以。

What’s the date？是询问日期的常用交际用语。
回答可以用“It's…”，也可以用today来代替it。
eg：—What's the date today？今天是几号？
—It's March 3.今天是三月三号。
表示日期常用序数词，即说明某一天在月份中的顺序。在英文中表示年、月、日有两种表示方法。
(1)月、日、年
eg：2014年4月20日可以写成April 20，2014。
(2)日、月、年
eg：2014年4月20日可以写成20 April，2014。
