Brian: Let me get the ladder for you.

Danny: I don't need a ladder. I think I'm tall enough❺.

careful /'keəfl/adj.小心的；仔细的

eg：John was careful not to say anything about this to her. 

约翰小心翼翼，没有向她提及任何有关此事的事。

careful是名词care的形容词形式，常用于be careful结构中。当be careful单独使用时，意为“小心”，相当于look out或take care。

eg：Be careful! There's a car coming here. 

小心！有一辆小汽车开过来了。 

careful常和介词of，about，with搭配使用，意为“当心；留意；仔细”。

eg：You must be careful of/about your pronunciation. 

你必须注意你的发音。

Be careful with that vase.

小心那个花瓶。

be careful in doing sth. 表示“做某事时要小心或仔细”。

eg：Be careful in crossing the road.

过马路时要小心。

be careful to do sth. 表示“注意/小心/谨慎做某事”。
