一、指示代词

表示“这个”，“那个”，“这些”，“那些”等指示概念的代词叫指示代词。

1．this，these是近指，一般用来指时间或空间上较近的事物；that，those是远指，常用来指时间或空间上较远的事物。this，that指代单数，these，those指代复数。eg：

Is this your pencil？这是你的铅笔吗？

These are my friends.这些是我的朋友。

Is that his book？那是他的书吗？

Those are my brothers.那些是我的兄弟们。

2．回答this/that，these/those作主语的问句时，常用it和they分别代替this/that和these/those。eg：

—Are these/those your English books？这些/那些是你的英语书吗？

—Yes，they are.是的，它们是的。

—What's this/that？这/那是什么？

—It's a ruler.它是一把尺子。

3．介绍在一起的人或物时，先说this/these，后说that/those。

【注意】this is，these are，those are都不能缩写，而that is可以缩写成that's。

二、who的用法

主要用来询问某人是谁，常用来引导特殊疑问句。eg：

Who's she？　Who's he？　Who're they?

这些都是由who引导的特殊疑问句。who是特殊疑问词，意为“谁”。

基本句型为：Who＋is/are＋主语(人)？意为“……是谁？”回答常用He/She is…/They are… eg：

—Who're they？他们是谁？

—They are Tom and Jim.他们是汤姆和吉姆。

—Who's he？他是谁？

—He is Dale.他是戴尔。

另外，who可与is，are缩写，who is⇒who's，who are⇒who're。
