Language points

1 It wasn’t very polite of you to sit down.

你坐下来是非常不礼貌的。

be polite （of sb. ）to do sth. 

（某人）礼貌地做某事

It is not polite of you to cut the speaker short. 

你打断发言者的话,真不礼貌。 

This boy is polite to everyone. 

这个男孩对所有人都很礼貌。 

2 Mouse stops singing and falls asleep.

老鼠停止了唱歌，然后睡着了。

（1）stop to do  停止，中断做某事后去做另一件事。

stop doing  停止正在做的事。

They stop to smoke a cigarette. 他们停下来，抽了根烟。

I must stop smoking. 我必须戒烟了。

（2）fall asleep = be asleep 睡着，入眠

I couldn’t fall asleep for a long time.

我久久不能入睡。

I don’t know when I fell asleep last night.
