1.Summer sees the mountains turn bright green with growing rice.

(1)see意为“见证,目睹,经历”时,常以表示时代、年代、世纪或地点的名词作主语,表示某时或某地“目睹、发生、经历”了某事。
(2)与see用法相同的动词有find, witness, say, experience等,这些词在句中作谓语,用物作主语时,表示一种拟人的手法,以增添语言色彩,使表达更形象。

英语构词法主要有四种:派生法、合成法、转化法和缩略法。
要点一 派生法
在一个词根的前面或后面加上某个词缀生成一个新词,这种构词法称为派生法。加在前面的词缀叫前缀,加在后面的词缀叫后缀。

前缀一般只改变词的意义,不改变词性。

1.在主从复合句中,对某一名词或代词起修饰作用的从句叫定语从句。被修饰的名词或代词叫先行词,引导定语从句的词叫关系词。

二、关系代词的基本用法
1.who指人,在定语从句中可以充当主语、宾语或表语,作宾语时可省略。

(1)构成
主语是第三人称单数时,谓语动词 加 -s 或 -es,主语是其他人称时谓语动词用原形。
(2)使用场合
①表示经常性、习惯性的动作或状态。常与表示频度的时间状语连用, 如 always,usually,often,every day, sometimes,now and then,seldom,never 等。

课堂要点精析
定语从句除了由关系代词引导外,还可由关系副词when, where, why引导,它们在从句中作状语。
关系副词when引导的定语从句
when表示时间,代替先行词并在定语从句中作时间状语,其先行词往往是表示时间的名词,如time,day,hour,year等。
◆We will never forget the year when the 29th Olympic Games were held in Beijing.
我们将永远不会忘记第29届奥运会在北京举办的那一年。
◆(重庆卷)He lived in a time when the blind couldn’t get much education.
他生活在一个盲人得不到教育的时代。

关系副词where引导的定语从句
where表示地点,代替先行词并在定语从句中作地点状语,其先行词往往是表示地点的名词,如place,factory,house,village等。
◆The house where I lived ten years ago has been pulled down. 我十年前居住的那所房子已经被拆了。
◆He is now working in the factory where his father worked. 现在他正在他父亲工作过的那家工厂工作。
关系副词why引导的定语从句
why表示原因,代替先行词并在定语从句中作原因状语,其先行词一般是reason这个词。
◆I don’t know the reason why he didn’t turn to his good friend for help yesterday.
我不知道昨天他为什么没向他的好朋友求助。

定语从句(Ⅲ)——“介词+ 关系代词”引导定语从句
要点一 “介词+ 关系代词”引导的定语从句
关系副词when,where,why 引导定语从句时,它们也可用“介词+ 关系代词(which / whom)”代替。
在“介词+ 关系代词”引导的定语从句中,关系代词只能用which 或whom,不可用that 或who。先行词指物时用which,先行词指人时用whom。
(1)介词选择的三原则:一先二动三意义。
一先:根据先行词的搭配习惯来确定。
二动:根据从句中谓语动词的搭配习惯来确定。
三意义:根据从句所表达的意义来确定。
【误区警示】
表“所属关系”或“整体中的一部分”时, 常用... of which/ whom 引导定语从句。
(2)介词可后移,此时关系代词可省略(省 略时,介词必须后移)。

有些含有介词的固定动词短语一般不能将介词单独放在关系代词前,如listen to,look for,care for,hear from,hear of, take care of 等。
(3)“名词/ 代词/ 数词 +of + 关系代词” 引导的定语从句通常是非限制性定语从句,该结构在定语从句中一般作主语。
(4)“介词+whose”在定语从句中作定语, 修饰其后的名词。

(1)“感官动词+宾语+宾补”的常见形式:

While Hanalei is the most beautiful town you've ever dreamed of, you can forget about discos and clubs. Worse, it doesn't have one single fourstar restaurant. What it does have is the original drivethrough places where you pass by a rambutan tree (红毛丹树), and pick a piece of fruit.
Shopping in Kauai? Forget it — unless you are interested in shell necklaces and beautifully carved wood bowls. Kauai is not about pampering. It's about going natural and finding the nature within you. It's a doityourself place that offers walking along the coast, driving and swimming in the Pacific Ocean, and lying on the beach.
Don't go to Kauai unless you have a lot of time, because there's only one road, which can be slightly dull. It winds through the beautiful scenery of waterfalls, rivers flowing into the ocean, and taro (芋头) fields. You have no choice but to look at everything, because the speed limit is 35 mph.

一般现在时

一般将来时
